All these negative reviews I've read here or on Booking have absolutely nothing in common with my experience. Nothing. I'm in no way affiliated with the hotel but it feels unjust to read certain things about this place, so here's my opinion. The hotel doesn't smell "musty"—it smells like a regular old house. This is normal. You have antiques and old walls, and centuries of history, you get the smell. It's delicate and nothing unpleasant. I grew up in a similar building and it spells home to me. The owner is *incredibly* friendly, the rest of the staff too. The restaurant is more than reasonably priced for our Dutch wallets (we had goose, duck, beer, Irish coffee, two desserts, charcuterie and glühwein, we paid less than 80 euros. To us it's truly a bargain). The food was delicious. How the breakfast looks and how it works was explained clearly during our check-in. 10 euros per person for better breakfast is pennies. We paid 40 in Kassel a week ago and it was so-so. Our bathroom is small, but I can comfortably take a shower there and do everything I need. It's clean, nothing to complain about. My almost 2 m tall partner thinks it's alright too. So yeah, I'm writing this from a very warm room, lying on a comfy mattress (I don't feel any wooden bottom), listening to the hum of the waterfall in the background. WiFi is spotty, that's true, but I have it. Pillows are a bit flat, but there are two blankets in the wardrobe we used as additional layer and voila, fixed. Extenders aren't new but they work well.

Uns hat es überhaupt nicht gefallen. Die vorherigen negativen Bewertungen drücken das aus, was auch wir empfunden haben. Gruselig!

Waren heute zum Frühstück dort. Positiv war der Service super freundlich. Das kleine Cafe' süß eingerichtet. Auswahl an Aufschnitt bzw. Auflage in Ordnung. Negativ war das es nur aufgebackene Weizenbrötchen als einzige Brötchensorte gab. Wenn man Weizen nicht gut verträgt, schwierig. Evtl. als Verbesserung oder Zusatz eine Sorte Roggen oder Dinkelbrötchen dazu. Vielleicht auch etwas Schwarz oder Vollkornbrot zum ausweichen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, jedoch war der Geschäftsleiter sehr unfreundlich. Ich verstehe das es in einem vollen Café sehr stressig seien kann, doch man muss dies nicht an einem der Kellner auslassen.
