Such a strange place. Very strange. Got 2 stars because entry is free. All you can hear when you're in there is horror sounds like women screaming and oddly shaped faces on videos.

We came on Sunday 12pm and it was closed. No explanation whatsoever.

Probably a very interesting place to visit in Düsseldorf. The bad note and review is obviously not about the content of the exhibitions and conferences but about the front desk ; though versed in german literature and very eager to learn more about Heine by visiting an exhibition titled "Romantik und die Revolution" I was refused the entrance because the person at the front desk refused to accept my proof of vaccination against covid, arguing that I had only one injection whereas the date on my document was that of the second injection and thus indicated a complete vaccination. I explained that in german and english but the person kept claiming that I was not vaccined. Let's mention that by the way that they wanted to control the visitors vaccination but had nothing to read their european vaccine QR code. The person really made no effort to understand my explanations and refused me the access to the exhibition on no valid ground. Is it not such "Zensur" and narrow-minded meanness that Heine sought to flee from by leaving Germany ? Very sad and unpleasing experience
