At the moment, there's a poor cashier who's so unhappy and ignorant that she takes any word spoken in a language other than German as a provocation to justify her aggressive attitude. If you protest, she'll call in a notorious drunkard to evict you. Some of this station's employees are in the same frame of mind, but fear the cameras. Management will claim a misunderstanding due to the language barrier. What you took for a racist or anti-Semitic insult was merely a polite greeting...This conception of civility is quite different from that of the independent merchants this town is fortunate to have. There's a camera in the store, but they'll claim there isn't one or that it doesn't work. And don't count on the station's security service either. Convinced of their superiority, these people will never be suspicious of you. Don't forget a Dictaphone or a hidden camera.
